There are many reasons why you may need to replace the doors on your car. Perhaps you opened your car door on the freeway to change a tire and someone failed to pay attention. Or maybe you hit a light pole with your door. Or maybe, the unlikely event occurred that your door simply fell off. No matter what happened, know that you do not have to pay full price for your car doors.
Used car doors are quite common anywhere you go, and when you need to replace your damaged doors, you can go for one of these rather than heading over to your dealership and having the repairs done at full price. But how do you locate used car doors?
The first thing you can do is search online. You will normally be able to find many websites in your area that will allow you to search different junkyards and salvage yards. There are many cars that are junked every day, meaning that while the rest of the car might be damaged, there may just be a perfectly good door attached to them. Just remember that it is important to find the same make and model as your vehicle, or at least something close. There are some vehicles that are actually interchangeable, one of them being the GMC Safari and Chevy Astro.
If you do not wish to use the internet, then you can proceed straight to your local scrap yard to find the part you need. There are some yards that will order a part for you if they do not have it, or at the very least direct you to a yard that does have it. Replacing your car door does not have to be expensive, as is proven with used car doors.
